The 2nd ANSWER-eu Train of Trainers event, themed "Promoting Equal Access in Academic and Social Life for All," will take place on March 19th, 2024, at the INES Ruhengeri campus in Musanze, Rwanda.

This four-day event aims to empower educators and professionals with the tools and knowledge to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in higher education.

Hosted by INES Ruhengeri, the event features a comprehensive agenda focused on digital accessibility, assistive technology, emotional intelligence, and resilience. Participants engage in workshops and sessions led by experts in the field, fostering a deeper understanding of disability inclusion and best practices for supporting students with diverse needs.

The event's agenda includes sessions such as "Introduction to Digital Content Accessibility" and "How to Create Accessible Word Documents," conducted by Cristina Palomares Crespo from the University of Alicante. Additionally, Jose Maria Fernandez Gil leads workshops on "Introduction to Assistive Technology" and "Assistive Technology for Vision Impairments," providing valuable insights into technological solutions for students with disabilities.

Moreover, the event addresses the importance of emotional intelligence and resilience in education, with sessions led by Daniilidou Athina and Leonidou Tonia from the University of Macedonia. Topics include "Emotional Intelligence: Theoretical Background" and "Resilience: The Educational Perspective," offering practical strategies for supporting students' socio-emotional well-being.

Dr. Jean Bosco BARIBESHYA, Vice-Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri, and Ms. Noelia López, Senior Project Manager at the University of Alicante, will welcome participants and highlight the significance of collaborative efforts in advancing disability inclusion in academia.

The ANSWER Train of Trainers event will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and capacity-building, empowering educators to create inclusive learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of all students. By promoting equal access and opportunities for students with disabilities, the event contributes to Rwanda's efforts towards building a more inclusive and equitable society.
